This post is a true labor of love. I am in the gathering stage of setting up my darkroom. i've bookmarked this post. One question: where can I get newspaper? 😉🤷‍♂️

I am glad to hear someone else uses the weight method to mix developers. I started because as you mention the difficulty with developers like HC-110. I found the specific gravity and found this much easier to mix as a result.

Yes, once I worked it out, all my worries about the accuracy of my plastic flasks disappeared.

Hi Doug, that's a lovely look and I have never heard of it before.

Thanks. It’s a fun process. Part of the fun of the darkroom is knowing enough to play with the rules.

I have always admired your work.

“…newspapers are always laid down so that the writing is upside down, this is to stop me being distracted…” So true! I was reading one lining my workbench this morning, even though it was months old!

Hail to you and these amazing instructional tips, Andrew! I hope that the younger film community finds you and laps them up. I was taught by a VERY strict teacher and the rules are anchored in me forever. She always said, “make it a habit and never deviate from it”. That has helped me enormously.

Thank you Juliette, your support is very much appreciated.

I still weigh on a triple-beam balance scale acquired c. 1982. No batteries or electronics to fail. Seems like a perfect match with analog photography, eh what?

Indeed it does.
