Just what I needed at the moment. I found an old lomo l-ca in the bin. Everything seemed to work but then the shutter only made one sound. So I figured the automatic was shot. I've been using it anyways. Even though I know most of the stuff you've talked about it's great to get a little refresher! Thanks
Another thought on hyperfocal distance is, I haven't shot any 35mm film in a while mostly because I wear glasses these days and I just can't get close enough to the viewfinder to see the whole image. Using hyperfocal distance would mitigate this problem. Ha, I never thought of that!
Hi! Thanks again for another great article. One question: if I'm using a 6x6 camera with a 75mm lens, which people said it's equivalent to around 50mm in 35mm, do you think your tables also apply?
No, lenses for different formats have different depth of filed. I think there is a simple interface website called DOF calculator where you can put in your own lenses etc.
Another so highlighting post! Thank you so much! So great too that you want to share your knowledge with so many of us. I really appreciate this from the bottom of my heart!

great and full of knowledge article. thanks for sharing, Andrew! just for fun, I used this weekend, strolling on London, this lens (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/376463448525?_skw=Thin+Wide-angle+Free+Focus+Lens+32mm+F10+Pan-focus+Mount+For+Nikon+Z+Camera&itmmeta=01K4Q6CTQ3MY4T5MTPB9CX10KQ&hash=item57a6f859cd:g:hJsAAeSwL0RolHnO&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAABMFkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1dO7oWknG4gnhk2ncYq4%2By1wjZWVJK%2FxS5vW2c8QyaS4yDv8E9n19aOuBcTnB63vR%2FHQkH1R7N8k8evFmGVdYktQQKCb%2FWjW2vYx9b6b6JLjEMTf8OwJJRWP4oIB%2BLQZ7ao6l5Dyi%2FhVuBsfulIHWlJZrv47e510Po2OE5gv8vVd4ShY3NzngpUFnko2CC06TB0VgUGtGho2gR0tLtJ4qutxU020W%2F3%2FbC%2BKRtkYY%2FpIqis3nLboOQGn2pdX%2FQejchAVIfmACn14bBvNLzPF1PpFt%2Fa1yN1LTe4pOoy0%2FKkIFe%2FRvnrF%2Ff%2BE7oDtV%2B0419LGXN9yQna7%2FfsfGCm43ACsvIvD%2FhVZqF2oKkqew2zjbyYTFJ8xXxoPwoBwAIOLbw%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR96rs-alZg&pfm=1) attached to my Z5. Is made from a disposable camera’s lens attached to a camera front cap (can be any model, of course), and is a 32mm f/10 lens. Surely, no great sharpness expected, but no focus needed, either, just shoot. I had lots of fun with it, and hope to share some of the images soon.
Thanks John. Did the lens produce decent shots?
Yeah, quite decent, can’t really complain. I’ll let you know when I’ll post them :)

Good point.

I’ve checked several and this one was the one I found that had the option to choose film formats: https://www.cabbagetownphoto.com/DOFfeet.html Thanks again!
That looks great, I will save that link.
Hi Andrew,
Another so highlighting post! Thank you so much! So great too that you want to share your knowledge with so many of us. I really appreciate this from the bottom of my heart!
Thank you Luz, I really want to put useful, practical information out there, because there is so much rubbish on YouTube.
